UPSTART PROGRAM
IN PHOENIX
The Grassroots program, designed for players born from 2013 to 2018, caters to recreational and introductory-level players, focusing on foundational skills without competitive pressure. This 7-week program includes one weekly training session and a weekly game, culminating in a Festival Day for all teams, complete with fun activities and celebrations.
The program is led by PSG Academy coaches and high school player volunteers who share a love for soccer and teaching the basics of the game.
Practice Schedule Information for PSG UpStart Program
Practices for the PSG UpStart program will be established once teams are formed. Each team will have one practice per week, which can be scheduled on any day from Monday to Thursday, with time slots from 5-6 PM or 6-7 PM. All practices will take place at Turney Park in Goodyear.

What will happen on the gameday?
During the Upstart gameday, players of the program will participate in games (4v4, 7v7, or 9v9). These games aim to give Upstart Program players as many touches on the ball as possible in game situations to develop their fundamental technical and tactical skills.
These games are a great opportunity for players to enjoy the beautiful game in a fun and controlled environment. Providing this learning environment allows players to implement what they have been working on during their training sessions.
Festival Day – A Celebration of Soccer and Fun
The UpStart Grassroots program wraps up with a special Festival Day in Week 7. On this day, all teams come together for a fun-filled event that celebrates the progress and enthusiasm of our young players. Festival Day features friendly matches, allowing players to showcase the skills they’ve developed throughout the season in a lively, game-packed environment. In addition to the games, we’ll have exciting activities like bounce houses and games to make the day memorable for everyone. It’s a great opportunity for families to cheer on their players and for the kids to enjoy a fun, relaxed day with their teammates and friends.

Begin your Paris Saint-Germain Academy Journey
By joining the Paris Saint-Germain Academy Phoenix Upstart program, players will learn the fundamentals of soccer in a professional yet fun environment with experienced Paris Saint-Germain Academy trained coaches. Players will initiate the development of their technical, tactical and cognitive skills and will begin to build their understanding of the game.

Paris Saint-Germain Academy has designed a holistic soccer program to develop talented players from 7 to 18 years old, as part of the Paris Saint-Germain Academy Competitive Program.
The Competitive Program provides competitive and educational training sessions based on the world-class European soccer methodology to enhance the natural development of players. The program focuses on developing players’ long-term technical, tactical and cognitive skills, as well as boosting their strength and confidence. Players are immersed in a competitive environment allowing them to drastically improve and take their game to the next level.
